The light emitted is bright especially in the dark and it can be changed through various different colours. there are basically 2 types of sounds; the first sound effect is accurate to a lightsaber being ignited the second effect sounds less accurate, more robotic and repeats continuously. It is not very loud and there is no volume control on the sound effects. Overall pleased with the purchase.

    first of the lightsaber it’s self is very well made the screws and metal are awesome the only thing I have to complain about is the blade size it’s perfect for a child I ended buying a bigger blade I love it even more but now I want to upgrade the sound board for the reason it doesn’t have smooth swing but the board that comes with is removable can’t wait to modify it more good starter lightsaber definitely
